BOWLS CLUB
Well done to everyone who played in the friendly at Crossgates. This was our first away match. The result was a closely fought draw at two wins each. Next fixture is at home to Flixton on Wednesday 7th October at 7.00pm.
Don’t forget the AGM on 23rd October at 1.00pm in the Community Village Hall. Next year’s subs are now due at £5.00. (What a bargain!)

WEDNESDAY CLUB
The meeting on 9th September was a resounding success with a free lunch, including home made sherry trifles, followed by an hour’s singalong with ‘Midlife Crisis’. Everyone had a good time. The next meeting will be on 14th October 2.00pm – 4.00pm in the Village Hall (members £1.00, guests £1.50). Tea, coffee and biscuits, raffle and bring and buy. Names to be taken for the Christmas Luncheon at Sewerby Grange. Hamper Draw numbers will go on sale.

TUESDAY BOWLS
Friday sessions are now very busy but we are happy to welcome bowlers at the Tuesday Short Mat Bowling Session in the Hall 6.30 – 8.30. All equipment provided so come and give it a try. Just bring flat shoes or slippers. £2.00 per head. All welcome, villagers or visitors, from experienced bowlers to absolute beginners. Why not stay on for the quiz!
QUIZ
The Tuesday night quiz is now a regular fixture at 9.00pm. New teams of villagers or visitors always welcome (if you don’t have a team you’re just as welcome). £1.00 per head. Bring your own drinks and glasses. Tea and coffee and crisps available. Raffle. Looking forward to seeing you there.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAYRE

CRAFTY COMPANIONS
This craft group meets in the Village Hall on the 1st and 3rd WEDNESDAY of each month from 1.30 – 3.30 pm. Sessions are very popular but there is always room for more! If you are keen to try your hand at all things crafty please come along. You will be made very welcome.
