Didn’t we have a lovely time when Bradley came to Bempton!

Well done everyone. We put on a wonderful show and definitely “did our bit” to give Le Tour a great send off from the East Riding. (We lent it to North Yorkshire for the afternoon but it’s back tomorrow). The villages looked fabulous, we lined the streets and packed both Halls ( a big thank you to all the volunteers) and provided the bulk of Look North’s T V coverage (starring Bempton School, Shona, Betty, Shona,Tony, Shona and our very own Town Crier sorry if  I’ve forgotten anyone – did I mention Shona?). There should be some good selfies of village ladies with the hunky police outriders

All households in the villages have or will soon have received a flyer with details of events on Bank Holiday May 4th. There is something for everyone so do come along and join in the fun. Don’t forget the Hall will be open on Friday 1st May for the passage of the Tour de Yorkshire.

As a consequence of the Bowls Club having been accepted into the Scarborough League changes are being made as follows with effect from Wednesday 29th April :-

Tuesday evening and Friday morning remain as Village Bowling Sessions (all welcome but Fridays are busier).

Wednesday evening is now a private booking for the Bowls Club.

At the AGM of the Scarborough League tonight (10th April) the Bowls Club was voted unanimously into the League for next season. We were made very welcome by the committee and membership.

If you have an old bike you’re not using please let us know via the email or phone and we’ll collect it spray it blue and use it to decorate the Hall on May 1st. Thanks.

FRIDAY 1ST MAY 12:11pm – The Community Village Hall will be open for refreshments on the day Le Tour de Yorkshire passes through. Keep visiting the website for updates.

Le tour de Yorkshire

The tour is scheduled to pass through Bempton at 12:11 on Friday 1st May en route from Bridlington Spa to Scarborough. Full details on the link above.

The Hall’s official opening day is to be Bank Holiday Monday 4th of May. News of celebrations for all villagers and hall users to follow.
