On Sunday 31st May three village gardens were opened to the public. We are very pleased to report that, despite the poor weather, the fabulous sum of £200 was raised. Well done to everyone.

AGM AND COMMITTEE

At the recent AGM a new committee was elected without a vote. Changes to the Constitution and management structure were approved unanimously.

Membership of the Village Hall is now automatic for residents of the two villages. Non resident Hall users may apply for membership. Membership carries with it the right to vote at General Meetings.

The Hall is now managed by a single Committee comprising postholders and members without portfolio.

VANDALISM

The Playground next to the Village Hall has been vandalised on more than one occasion. Would you please report anything that you see by dialling 101. If you would rather speak to our PCSO Liz Smith she would be very glad to hear from you on 01262 458788 or email elizabeth.smith@humberside.pnn.police.uk

BUSY TIMES

These have been very busy times for B & B C V H including a very successful Tour de Yorkshire, The Official Opening Celebrations and the AGM which included constitutional changes and the election of a brand new Chair and Committee. We shall be reflecting fully on all of these in early course. Please bear with us for a few days.

TOUR DE BEMPTON

Didn’t we have a lovely time when Bradley came to Bempton!

Well done everyone. We put on a wonderful show and definitely “did our bit” to give Le Tour a great send off from the East Riding. (We lent it to North Yorkshire for the afternoon but it’s back tomorrow). The villages looked fabulous, we lined the streets and packed both Halls ( a big thank you to all the volunteers) and provided the bulk of Look North’s T V coverage (starring Bempton School, Shona, Betty, Shona,Tony, Shona and our very own Town Crier sorry if  I’ve forgotten anyone – did I mention Shona?). There should be some good selfies of village ladies with the hunky police outriders
